This application connector (the MDM Publisher) option is available while creating a service container. For information on creating a service container, refer to Creating a Service Container.

Hub Publisher |
If you select the check box, the service container is marked as a Hub publisher. If you do not select this check box, the service connector is configured as a spoke publisher. |
Machine(name/IP) |
The IP address of the computer where you are creating the service container appears, by default. Specify either Machine name or IP address. |
Use different database for application |
If you select the check box, the application content is not placed in the same database as the MDM content. Hence, you must provide the database details for the application content in the Application tab that appears. |
Port |
Port number for connecting the service group. Specify a valid port number (preferably greater than 1024). Machine IP address and Port together are used to form a syncup ring between all the service containers with in this service group for exchanging cache information, load balancing, and failover messages. |
In the Repository tab you must provide the database details where you want the MDM content to be placed. Similarly, in the Application tab you must provide the database details where you want the application content to be placed.

Select Database Configuration |
Select one of the existing database configurations that have been created. The details of the selected database configuration appear in various fields within the same window. To create a new database configuration, select New Database Configuration option. For details refer to Creating a Database configuration |
